{"id":527,"date":"2025-05-17T16:52:08","date_gmt":"2025-05-17T14:52:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.lasagadesgares.be\/wordpress\/?p=527"},"modified":"2026-04-05T21:44:31","modified_gmt":"2026-04-05T19:44:31","slug":"st-ghislain-atelier","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lasagadesgares.be\/wordpress\/st-ghislain-atelier\/","title":{"rendered":"L\u2019atelier des wagons de Saint-Ghislain (CHW)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Un premier atelier des wagons a \u00e9t\u00e9 implant\u00e9 \u00e0 Saint-Ghislain en 1923 dans les b\u00e2timents d\u2019une ancienne verrerie. Il disposait de 4 voies. Cet atelier sera fortement endommag\u00e9 lors des bombardements d\u2019avril \/ mai 1944. Un nouvel atelier, rendu n\u00e9cessaire par le d\u00e9veloppement de la gare de formation, sera ouvert en 1948 pour assurer la r\u00e9paration et l\u2019entretien des wagons.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Six voies \u00e0 double issue (4 \u00e0 gauche et 2 \u00e0 droite) encadrent un plateau central o\u00f9 \u00e9tait dispos\u00e9 l\u2019outillage n\u00e9cessaire. C\u00f4t\u00e9 viaduc, un pont transbordeur facilitait la man\u0153uvre des wagons r\u00e9par\u00e9s.<br>L\u2019atelier, qui a occup\u00e9 jusque 190 agents a \u00e9t\u00e9 ferm\u00e9 au d\u00e9but de 1996 et le pont transbordeur, qui venait d\u2019\u00eatre modernis\u00e9, d\u00e9mont\u00e9 pour \u00eatre transf\u00e9r\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019AC Cuesmes.<br>Depuis 1998, le b\u00e2timent et les voies annexes sont lou\u00e9s \u00e0 la SNCB par le PFT (Patrimoine Ferroviaire et Tourisme).<br>Les voies int\u00e9rieures accueillent une partie du mat\u00e9riel roulant tandis, que le plateau central est destin\u00e9, apr\u00e8s r\u00e9fection de la toiture, \u00e0 un espace mus\u00e9al.
