{"id":1192,"date":"2025-09-23T16:24:20","date_gmt":"2025-09-23T14:24:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.lasagadesgares.be\/wordpress\/?p=1192"},"modified":"2026-04-06T00:06:56","modified_gmt":"2026-04-05T22:06:56","slug":"chateau-d-ardenne","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lasagadesgares.be\/wordpress\/chateau-d-ardenne\/","title":{"rendered":"La halte royale \u00e0 Houyet"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><tbody><tr><td class=\"has-text-align-center\" data-align=\"center\"><strong>Mise en service<\/strong><\/td><td class=\"has-text-align-center\" data-align=\"center\"><strong>Fin du service voyageurs<\/strong><\/td><td class=\"has-text-align-center\" data-align=\"center\"><strong>Fin du service marchandises<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td class=\"has-text-align-center\" data-align=\"center\">23.06.1898<\/td><td class=\"has-text-align-center\" data-align=\"center\">1919<\/td><td class=\"has-text-align-center\" data-align=\"center\"><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Nous sommes sur la ligne 166. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Il confie les plans \u00e0 Alphonse Balat, l\u2019architecte des serres royales de Laeken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A l\u2019image d\u2019Ostende, le roi b\u00e2tisseur veut faire un lieu touristique de premier plan en Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En 1898, le ch\u00e2teau d\u2019Ardenne devient un v\u00e9ritable palace parmi les plus fastueux d\u2019Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dot\u00e9 de plusieurs centaines de chambres, d\u2019un golf, de terrains de tennis et d&rsquo;un parc \u00e0 l\u2019anglaise, cette extraordinaire infrastructure accueille tout le gotha europ\u00e9en: les t\u00eates couronn\u00e9es, les aristocrates, les nantis de la Belle Epoque, sans oublier les ambassadeurs, bien \u00e9videmment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u00e9opold II appr\u00e9cie de se d\u00e9placer \u00e0 travers l\u2019Europe dans son train royal, il d\u00e9cide donc de construire \u00e0 proximit\u00e9 de son h\u00f4tel ch\u00e2teau, une gare privative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Inaugur\u00e9e le 01 avril 1896, la \u00ab\u00a0halte royale d\u2019Ardenne\u00a0\u00bb va voir d\u00e9barquer les \u00e9minents clients de l\u2019h\u00f4tel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tout est pr\u00e9vu pour leur confort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les passagers venant de toute l\u2019Europe descendent du train, montent \u00e0 bord de cal\u00e8ches qui les attendent sur les quais au pied des wagons et montent jusqu\u2019au \u00ab\u00a0Ch\u00e2teau d\u2019Ardenne\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019anc\u00eatre des navettes en quelque sorte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La gare de L\u00e9opold II pr\u00e9sente un aspect pour le moins \u00e9trange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Murailles \u00e9paisses, tourelle, cr\u00e9neaux, moellons de calcaire et une forme circulaire pour le moins \u00e9tonnante.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On peut ais\u00e9ment la comparer \u00e0 un ch\u00e2teau-fort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Une route en spirale m\u00e8ne au ch\u00e2teau \u00e0 travers les bois.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La gare ferme d\u00e9finitivement en 1919.
